Spiritual Warfare Part III…..Nature of Demons

Spiritual Warfare
Part III…..Nature of Demons

To begin to understand the nature that this once holy angel, Lucifer, has sunken into and see just how evil he has become, we need to study the symbols that the Bible uses to describe Lucifer and his demons.

1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

The only way a lion can get any satisfaction from the cravings of his inner being is either to be killing something or seeking something to kill. A lion is always seeking something to kill, not particularly because he is hungry, but because it is his very nature to kill.

We have all read stories of someone who has taken a young lion and raised him from a cub to an adult.

Ø     Suddenly an accident occurs and that person cuts himself or something.
Ø     The lion smells blood and immediately his lustful nature takes over.
Ø     The animal pounces on that person, and if someone did not get to him, the lion would have killed him.

This is because the lion’s true nature took over.

This is precisely the evil nature of the beings that we have to fight against as Christians.

Ø   There is a great invisible kingdom of principalities and powers, which have a nature that can have no satisfaction of their inner cravings unless they are seeking and searching out someone to deceive, tempt, vex, oppress, depress and ultimately destroy.

Matthew l2:43 - "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none."

This verse is telling us that an unclean spirit who is forced to exist in the air with no body of either human or animal in which they can dwell in is miserable.

We can illustrate this also with human experience. We human beings have a nature that loves the fresh air and sunshine, the flowers, the birds, the trees, and fellowship in the Lord with one another, particularly we who are manifesting Christ’s nature.

Ø     Take any one of us and put us in a cell six foot high, two feet wide, with no windows or no doors.
Ø     If we were kept locked up with no means of being able to manifest our nature we would become insane.
Ø     If it is your nature to love, and you cannot love, you are miserable.
Ø     If it is your nature to laugh, and you cannot laugh, you are miserable.

The demonic nature is to hurt, deceive, tempt, depress, vex, oppress, afflict, and ultimately destroy. If they cannot have a body to dwell in (either animal or preferably human), a body through which they can be manifesting their nature, they are miserable.

We, who are Christians, feel joy when we can share with someone the truth about the Lord Jesus and that person is absorbing every word.

Ø     We rejoice when they can be led into the precious truths concerning the Holy Spirit.
Ø     We rejoice when we see them kneel down in prayer, filled with the Spirit of God, just lost in Him.

But if we are talking to a person, trying to present Christ, and that person is looking in every direction other than at us and not really hearing what we say, we go away with just a little bit of satisfaction out of knowing that we have tried.

Still, there is the crying out in us to see that person filled with the Spirit of God.

Even so, demon spirits that are forced to exist outside of anyone that they cannot dwell in still do their work of tempting and deceiving, but they are miserable if they are forced to remain on the outside.

Ø     They still try to present their evil ideas to a person's mind, but that person might have his mind filled with the labours of the day or continually thinking about his business and job.
Ø     This person may be paying no attention to the tempting voice of the demon spirits that seek to place their evil ideas into that person's mind.
Ø     If they are trying to tempt a Christian and he refuses to accept their evil ideas they get little satisfaction out of tempting.

They go away feeling they have tried, but their nature cries out within them to so succeed in their deceiving and tempting that person so that they can dwell in him and truly begin to manifest their evil nature through that person.

Until they can do so they never fully satisfy the cravings of their inner nature.

Contrary to what we have been taught in the past, Lucifer and his demons are not constantly seeking to overthrow God's kingdom simply because they are mad at God and they want to get revenge.

Neither are they here on earth trying to overthrow God.

Ø     They do what they do because their nature forces them to do evil things and to be what they are.
Ø     They can do nothing else because that is the nature to which they have degenerated to.

If Lucifer could have taken authority over all of God's creation and still remained the angelic being that he was when God first created him as an archangel, he would have been very satisfied.

Ø     His desire was not to become the degenerated, depraved, unholy, evil spirit that he is now.
Ø     He did not know things were going to end up this way for him.
Ø     He thought he could take authority over all of God's creation and still remain the same wise being he was then.
Ø     He did not want to be a demon or devil, but now he does what he does because he cannot help himself.

He still has a desire to take complete ruler ship over the rest of God's creation and he fights a war to do so.

Now his very Nature cries out to rule, even if he has to destroy God’s creation in the process. He walked out of the leadership of God's Spirit and began to play in the road that leads to darkness.

I believe that the Spirit of God did try to call him back when he started on his downward road because God loves His creation.

Ø     But the day came when Lucifer passed the point of no return
Ø     Lucifer became so hardened in his heart that God knew he would never turn back to Him so; He had to let them go.

The only end that God could provide for Lucifer was a time in the judgment day when he would be separated unto his hell, there to exist forever separated from God

Human beings who think that they can depart from the plan of God for their lives and play around with the world a little bit, satisfying their dreams and desires, need now to realize that it will lead to a downward road of darkness and eventually hell.

As they go that way, they sink into greater and deeper depths of sin, out of the light of God.

Ø     They walk out of His leadership.
Ø     They find themselves bound in chains of darkness.
Ø     They go further and further into that darkness until they have no strength to pull themselves out of it.

The Spirit of God will try to encourage them back to Himself. If they continue to seek to plan and fulfil their own lives instead of seeking God's plan for their lives the day will come when they will pass the point of no return, when their minds and their spirits becomes so hardened that, even if they hear the voice of Jesus calling them, they will have no strength to turn back.

Only if they come back to Jesus can they come out of darkness. Otherwise, they are doomed to eternally go down further and further into darkness and wickedness.

God has a definite plan for each of our lives, but so often instead of waiting and seeking God's plan for our life we begin to have dreams and desires of our own. "I want to do this with my life or want to do that. I want to be a business man; I want to marry this woman or want to marry that man."

As we begin seeking to fulfil these dreams and desires (and we do) we are in direct rebellion against God's purpose and plan for our lives. This leads only to misery and frustrations until some day we turn back to Jesus and let Him begin to lead us back into God's plan for our lives.

God in His wisdom at the moment of creation made visible symbols of the invisible spiritual truths about Himself and His perfect plan for all creation so that we are without excuse. When we allow the Spirit of God to reveal God’s perfect plan for our lives it becomes the light that keeps us from the chains of darkness that Lucifer tries to wrap us in with his tricks.

Spiritual Warfare Part I…..In Heavenly Places

Spiritual Warfare Part I…..In Heavenly Places Ephesians 1: 19    and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. So the heavenly places are where Christ has been made to sit at the right hand of God. Therefore the heavenly places are where God is. To understand where the heavenly places are we need to change our thinking from what we had after we first became Christians. T his verse is not saying that Christ is sitting on a physical throne beside a physical...

Basic Patterns Part I….In the Beginning

Basic Patterns Part I….In the Beginning Exodus 25: 8 And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. 9 according to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it. When people are making a dress, they take the material and place it up against the pattern and then if it doesn't fit the pattern they begin cutting some away. Ø      We need to understand that the Holy Spirit wants to reveal to us, through the scriptures, several patterns that will make known to us the whole plan of God from the beginning to the end . Ø      These patterns speak in different symbols and numbers and yet they all relate to one another. Ø      Whenever we have a revelation presented to us, whether it is by some spirit speaking to your mind, or some spirit in some preacher speaking to your ear, we can place that revelation up against the pattern in ...

FROM SERVANT TO SON Part II.....Discipleship

From Servant to Son Part II…Discipleship Colossians 2:6 - As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him In order to fully walk in Him we need to walk through four stages of Christian growth. 1.    Servantship – When we walk beneath God 2.    Discipleship – When we walk behind God 3.    Friendship – When we walk beside God 4.     Sonship – When we walk in God The first stage of our walk is the baby stage of our Christian walk. It is our Servantship stage. Those who move in this level of a servantship revelation have a saying which is, "You are saved to serve” . Ø      This sounds very good to the babe in Christ, who does not know any better, but in fact it is far from the truth. Ø      We are not saved to serve. Ø      Our Heavenly Father did not call us out of the world and save us to be His servants throughout Eternity. Ø      He c...
