FROM SERVANT TO SON Part II.....Discipleship

From Servant to Son
Part II…Discipleship

Colossians 2:6 - As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him

In order to fully walk in Him we need to walk through four stages of Christian growth.

1.   Servantship – When we walk beneath God
2.   Discipleship – When we walk behind God
3.   Friendship – When we walk beside God
4.    Sonship – When we walk in God

The first stage of our walk is the baby stage of our Christian walk. It is our Servantship stage. Those who move in this level of a servantship revelation have a saying which is, "You are saved to serve”.

Ø     This sounds very good to the babe in Christ, who does not know any better, but in fact it is far from the truth.
Ø     We are not saved to serve.
Ø     Our Heavenly Father did not call us out of the world and save us to be His servants throughout Eternity.
Ø     He created us and called us and saved us to be Sons with whom He might have fellowship throughout Eternity.

The second stage in Christ is DISCIPLESHIP or the child stage of our walk.

Ø     The word which is translated “disciple” in the King James Version, translates to the word “student” or “learner”.
Ø     In Jesus’ day there were many great religious teachers in Israel called “Masters”.
Ø     Because Jesus was not accepted by the Jews as Christ He was considered only another one of these masters.
Ø     When someone became a disciple of one of these masters, he had to take all that he had and come and lay it at the feet of the master
Ø     He moved in the house of that master
Ø     Wherever the master went, if only to the market-place, all the disciples followed behind
Ø     The master was continually teaching, a truth here and a truth there.

Jesus said to us "Whosoever forsaketh not all that he has and taketh up his cross and followeth Me cannot be my disciple”. He also said, “Except ye hate your father and your mother and your sister and your brother, yea, and your own life also, you cannot be my disciple”.

Using this as a standard of measurement, how many Christians do you know who are truly disciples of Jesus?

Ø     It doesn't take long to realize that not all Christians are students of Jesus Christ.
Ø     Most who attend Sunday school and Church only periodically, do not care whether they ever learn the mind of Christ or not
Ø     Even some who attend regularly have little concern for learning the mind of Christ.

For years I walked only in servantship, with only servantship revelations and servantship faithfulness. But then the Holy Spirit started revealing to me what true discipleship means in the Scripture.

Ø     When I did, I left the denominations and its carnal systems behind,
Ø     I threw away some of my books
Ø     I laid all I was and all I had at the Master's feet.
Ø     I allowed the Holy Spirit to work in me, to teach me.
Ø     I began to understand what Jesus was talking about when He said, “When He comes He will teach you all things and lead you into all truth, even the Holy Spirit”.

Then He began to teach me twenty-four hours a day.

Ø     He taught me about the wonderful truths and patterns of Moses' tabernacle.
Ø     He taught me about the gifts of the Spirit
Ø     He taught me about the demonic kingdoms.
Ø     He began to teach me about God's Eternal plan for the perfecting of the Saints
Ø     I began to understand God's eternal government.
Ø     The verses from Ephesians suddenly became alive.

Ephesians 4:11:- He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists, and some, pastors and teachers: For the perfecting of the Saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Quotes:
Ø     The most tragic thing in the suffering of Christ was not the cross but the sleeping disciples.
Ø     Salvation is free ... but discipleship will cost you your life.

Spiritual Warfare Part I…..In Heavenly Places

Spiritual Warfare Part I…..In Heavenly Places Ephesians 1: 19    and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, 21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come 22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. So the heavenly places are where Christ has been made to sit at the right hand of God. Therefore the heavenly places are where God is. To understand where the heavenly places are we need to change our thinking from what we had after we first became Christians. T his verse is not saying that Christ is sitting on a physical throne beside a physical...

Our Foundation

Our Foundation I Corinthians 3: 11 - For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12   Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, 13   each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. 14   If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15   If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 16 ¶ Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17   If anyone defiles the temple of God , God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. When man tried to build the tower of Babel they were not able to do it because God confused them, but God is building what man was not able to build. Ø    ...

The Problem With "Church"

The Problem With "Church" Ezekiel 47: 3   And when the man that had the line in his hand went forth eastward, he measured a thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the waters were to the ankles. 4   Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through the waters; the waters were to the knees. Again he measured a thousand, and brought me through; the waters were to the loins. 5   Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over. 6   And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river. 7   Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. 12   And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neit...
